Melbourne is a breathtaking city full of surprises! 🌄
Today marks my third week in Melbourne, and I must say, the city has truly surprised me! Melbourne is a metropolis that defies all my expectations. Skyscrapers tower everywhere, yet the streets feel open and inviting. The streets are remarkably clean, lined with a multitude of restaurants, especially those celebrating Asian cuisine. And the coffeehouses! There are so many excellent cafés here that it’s hard to choose just one to visit. The numerous parks, including a beautiful botanical garden, are a paradise for nature lovers, full of exotic animals you would never see in Germany. The only slight downside is the many construction sites, but that’s just part of urban life.
The Space Hotel is a fantastic place to live and network 🌝
My friend Finn and I have settled into the Space Hotel. For $50 a night, it’s quite reasonable for Melbourne. The hostel offers a lot of amenities: room service, numerous activities that make it easy to meet new people, and not to forget, the stunning rooftop terrace with a spectacular view of the city.
A stress-free job with a solid paycheck đź’Ľ
Two days ago, we started our new job as “Foamers.” In a relaxed atmosphere, we pad computers to ensure they survive transport without damage. We can listen to music while we work and have friendly colleagues around us. For this job, we earn $24.5 per hour, which totals $196.5 per day. This is enough to save a bit and finance our future plans.
Travel plans that are thrilling and full of potential! 🌌
Our plan is to work this job for about two months before buying a car and traveling the world. Our exact route is still undetermined, but we’ve already received many tips from friends and new acquaintances. The future is exciting and full of possibilities.
In Melbourne, there’s always something new to discover and enjoy! đźŽ
In the meantime, we plan to explore all the sights in Melbourne. These include St. Kilda, the vintage shops in the Brunswick and Fitzroy neighborhoods, and the Victoria Market. There is so much to see and do here that boredom is simply not an option.
In conclusion, Melbourne has surprised and delighted me in many ways. From its stunning architecture to the countless culinary experiences and diverse recreational opportunities, the city is a true gem. I look forward to the coming months and the many adventures that lie ahead.
